October 1 marks 'A' fresh start for boilers, as SEDBUK Band B condensed models will no longer be permitted for installation from a week today.
The ban is part of changes to Part L of the Building Regulations.
This deadline is extended for those who have ordered a Band B boiler before this date to April 2011.
However, B-rated oil-fired combination boilers are exempt from the new regulations.
Industry statistics revealed Band B boiler sales account for up to 15% of the UK boiler market, as much as 180.000 boilers a year.
