OPGO recently arranged for six of its members to attend continual professional development training in association with boiler manufacturer ATAG Heating.

The six members attended ATAG's training facility in Chichester, Sussex, where, as well as training, they also had the opportunity to have face-to-face discussions with their fellow members.

As OPGO is, essentially, a web-based organisation, the members who attended the ATAG training are now able to pass on their knowledge to their fellow members, which has the added benefit of raising the standard of not just those who attended.

An OPGO spokesman noted that, unfortunately, under the gas industry’s present criteria for testing competence, the members will receive no formal ACS credit for their efforts in keeping abreast of the latest developments in boiler design and technology, something which OPGO has said it would like to address on behalf of its members.
