A free skills and careers event aimed at providing young people with exciting opportunities in further education, skills and apprenticeships, is being launched in Birmingham next month.

The Skills Show, being held at Birmingham’s NEC from 15 to 17 November, will play host to a range of exhibitors, competitions, awards and activities.

Exhibitors will include colleges, universities and learning providers from across the UK, there to discuss the different entry routes into career sectors including heating, ventilating and plumbing.

Companies will also be promoting the opportunities they can offer, including apprenticeships, and talking to those wanting to get into the sector about what skills they will need and the best approach to take.

Visitors can try their hand at new skills, get up to the minute careers advice, and will have the chance to see skills in action as the best of the nation’s young talent perform at the WorldSkills UK Competitions.

Many of the WorldSkills UK National Finals will be held at the show, including the Heating & Ventilation WSUK Final and the Plumbing WSUK Final

Skills patron and business Dragon Theo Paphitis will be in attendance, supporting The Skills Show and helping to raise awareness and recognition of vocational skills and careers.
