DECC has announced a further two dates for its heat pump training roadshows, to take place in January.

The two new roadshows have been designed to help social housing providers get to grips with issues around procurement, installation, commissioning and management of heat pumps. This is in line with the MCS MIS 3005 Issue 3 standard for heat pumpinstallation, which came into force in April 2012. DECC has worked closely with the heat pump industry to develop these new standards.

These free, one-day events are specifically designed for asset management, sustainability, housing and energy staff within social housing providers, as well as for their heating contractors. Training will be interactive, helping attendees to explore the detail of specifications, the costs and benefits of heat pumps, maintenance, resident training, contracts and commissioning.

The new roadshows will be held on:

*   Tuesday 8 January 2013, Southampton

*   Thursday 10 January 2013, London.
