Green Deal provider Enact Energy Renewables has gone into administration.
The firm, based in Tolvaddon, Cornwall, was one of the first 22 companies to be awarded Green Deal provider status from the Department of Energy & Climate Change (DECC) in January.
Enact has recently signed a deal with the Residential Landlords Association to provide Green Deal upgrade work. The contract had been worth £100 million to upgrade 10,000 properties over the next five years.
Christopher Norman and Ian Walker of corporate rescue and recovery specialist Begbies Traynor have been appointed as joint administrators. Norman told This is Cornwall: “Twenty-nine members of the company’s staff were made redundant on the appointment of the joint administrators. The company has retained some of its employees to assist the administrators in conducting an orderly winding down of the company’s affairs. We will now attempt to source a purchaser for some or all of the company’s business undertaking and assets.”
Enact Energy was the company that managed Tesco’s Home Efficiency Service – a gas boiler replacement and heating installation service.
