Employers, employer bodies and other organisations are being invited to inform the work that SummitSkills is carrying out over the coming months, which will shape the skills and competencies of those working in the building services engineering (BSE) sector.

Sector skills council SummitSkills is reviewing the National Occupational Standards (NOS) for the BSE sector. These NOS define the competencies that are required by those carrying out certain functions within their job role to a nationally recognised level. They inform the content, design and delivery of skills-based appraisals of individuals and organisations, job specifications, training and assessment programmes and qualifications for occupations in the electrotechnical, heating and ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration and plumbing industries.
