Deva, part of Methven UK, has announced the winner of its £5,000 Win a Marketing Campaign competition.

Bryan Naylor of Kitchen & Bathrooms By Design was “thrilled” to win the competition, which he entered in January. He established Kitchen & Bathrooms By Design in 1991 and now runs the family business with his son Luke, employing a team of five and working across a 30-mile radius from its base of operations in Featherstone, Wakefield.

Included in his campaign prize will be the full design and build of a professional website and website content, a photography portfolio of completed work, a PR campaign in his local area and a 'pay-per-click' campaign, improving his position on Google rankings so that potential customers can find him online.

The competition was launched after conducting a large bathroom installer survey and revealing that more than 60% of plumbers and installers were struggling to market themselves and find work. A staggering 66% of installers surveyed said they were not able to do any marketing, with a third of those citing lack of money as the reason and 21% admitting they didn't know where to start. Despite many consumers turning to the internet to find an installer, almost half of those installers surveyed (49%) admitted they had no website or online presence.

Barbara Osborne, product marketing manager at Deva, said: "We were excited to run the competition and thrilled that the winner was a small family-run business, catering to its local area. The results of the survey clearly demonstrated that installers feel undervalued and cannot find the time or the money to promote themselves at a time when competition for work is at its highest. Kitchen & Bathrooms By Design is just what we were looking for – local experts with a reputation for customer satisfaction, who just needed a little help getting their name out there."

Of his win, Naylor said: "I'm thrilled to have won this competition, I've never won anything in my life; I honestly couldn't believe it! We've worked really hard as a family to establish the business, and even launched a small showroom in Featherstone, but this prize of a marketing campaign is sure to give us a further boost."
