David Checker from Bristol-based family business AN Checker is the winner of ADEY's MagnaClean Professional2 competition.

Launched at the beginning of the year to celebrate ADEY’s new MagnaClean Professional2 filter, the nationwide competition attracted huge interest with 8,500 entries. Six iPads were also given away in monthly prizes before Checker was randomly picked as the winner of the grand prize: a VW Transporter van with full livery.

“I was thrilled when I found out I’d won," said Checker, who entered the competition after buying his Professional2 from PTS in Fishponds. "I bought 15 Professional2’s before I entered, having seen the competition advertised in the trade press. I thought I’d give it a go as my daughter wanted an iPad – I never thought I’d end up winning the van!

“I’ve been an ADEY customer for five years now and used the MagnaClean Professional before the Professional2 was launched. We’ve a very high success rate and it’s a real benefit to show customers the amount of sludge that builds up in their radiators and pipes.

“As a small family-run business, we’re pleased to have been able to hold our own during the economic downturn, although we haven’t been able to upgrade any of our fleet of vehicles for quite a while, so this new van comes at a great time for us. It looks really smart and I’m sure it will help make the AN Checker name even more recognisable.”

ADEY founder and chief executive Chris Adey, who drove the vehicle to the winner and handed over the keys, added: “I started from my garden shed 10 years ago, so I know the hard work it will have taken Tony and his sons to build a business from scratch. We’re really pleased to know that the van will make such a difference to David’s family business. Helping installers is at the heart of our company.”

The runners-up, who will receive ADEY’s MagnaCleanse system flushing filter and Professional2 filter and chemical pack, have also been revealed:
