The winners of the Gas Industry Awards 2014 were announced at London’s Park Lane Hilton on 14 May 2014, honouring the outstanding people and companies who have helped to make the gas industry great through innovative new processes, exceptional individual enthusiasm and personal commitment.

Over 500 attendees gathered to celebrate the annual event, organised by The Institution of Gas Engineers and Managers (IGEM) and The Energy and Utilities Alliance (EUA).

The awards were hosted by broadcaster and journalist Michael Collie and presented by IGEM President Simon Ayley and EUA President Vic Tuffen.

Mike Foster, chief executive officer of EUA, said: “I would like to congratulate all of the nominees, who were of an outstanding calibre and should be proud of their achievements and the recognition they rightly received today.

“As for the winners, they are truly among the very best of the best. Their achievements are to be celebrated and their ideas and methods shared widely across the industry."

Among the award winners was Jeremy Bending, who was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award. As Director of Network Strategy for National Grid, Mr Bending's career in the gas industry has spanned nearly 40 years, encompassing technical, operational and commercial areas.
