Representatives from the Manufacturers' Association of Radiators and Convectors (MARC) have met with the Department for Energy and Climate Change (DECC) to ask for radiators to be included in Green Deal.

Stewart Clements from MARC said: “Modern high performance steel panel radiators work extremely well with low water temperatures, making them an ideal choice for eco-conscious home owners.

"They start performing as soon as the water is in the system, and so the panel becomes warmer than the surrounding space. Low water temperature heating systems using modern panel radiators are one of the most efficient ways of using heating energy to deliver warmth.

"As radiators need only small volumes of warm water to operate efficiently they work well with all heat sources and we believe that DECC should include themin the energy efficiency measures available through theGreen Deal initiative.”
