District heating pipework specialist REHAU has appointed a new applications engineer.

Markus Euring, an expert on diversity and heat network design, has relocated to the UK from REHAU’s headquarters in Germany, partly to provide support to those authorities that are using newly acquired Heat Network Delivery Unit (HNDU) funding to finance the studies.

Steve Richmond, REHAU’s business team manager, said: “The HNDU funding is encouraging a widespread review of district heating feasibility, which we warmly welcome.

“However, it’s important that these studies take into account the very latest advances in terms of product specification and best practice in network design and that’s where Markus will come in, drawing on his extensive experience in the more established German district heating market.

“We know that diversity is key in determining feasibility, as is optimising pipework sizes and maximising the delta T, and Markus is joining our team here to provide existing and potential customers with expert advice in these key areas.”
