Plumbing and drainage manufacturer Wavin has added to its ‘How to’ collection with 11 new instructional videos that demonstrate how OSMA Plastic Soil and Waste systems can make light work of challenging plumbing problems.

Available to view on the official Wavin YouTube channel, the videos show installers, specifiers and customers alike how to overcome plumbing challenges. Covering a wide range of subjects that are encountered every day by plumbers all over the world, the viewer is shown that a few ‘tricks of the trade’ can deliver simple and efficient solutions.

A common problem for plumbers and clients is a lack of space. Wavin has produced three videos that highlight how the company’s HepvO waterless valve can overcome many of the problems associated with conventional water traps, while providing a space-saving solution for fitting a waste pipe to a basin, under a sink and in the tight space under a bath.

As the effectiveness of a plumbing system relies heavily upon secure connections, Wavin has dedicated four separate videos to connection fittings and installations. From a step-by-step guide to cutting a pipe square and making a quality solvent-welded joint, to using a drain adaptor to connect cast-iron and clay, the informative videos help to explain the solutions in a clear, straightforward way.

Health and safety are important considerations at every project. In order to prevent the spread of fire via the holes in walls made by soil pipes, Wavin provides a fire collar to meet legal requirements. To internally vent soil stacks while preventing any foul air from escaping, the installation of an air admittance valve offers a simple, effective alternative to vent pipes.

It’s important that plumbers install systems to perform well in both the short and long term. As drain blockages are unfortunately a fact of life, Wavin shows how a simple OSMA Rodding Point can provide access when required. Another video shows that when fitting a soil pipe it’s easy to allow for expansion with just a pencil and some silicone spray. The final video in the collection demonstrates how a mildly abrasive cleaner can bring ageing and faded guttering back to life in just seconds.

An industry benchmark for excellence and innovation, the OSMA range offers integrated solutions to give specifiers and installers complete confidence in its compatibility and performance capabilities. As the leading brand in plastic drainage and rainwater systems, the new instructional videos will further strengthen OSMA’s position as industry pioneers in product development, system compatibility and technical support.
