Mitsubishi Electric has been featured in a recent episode of Channel 4's Grand Designs.

The company's Ecodan air source heat pump was installed in Mark and Debbie Sampson's new home in France.

Mark Sampson said: "It was really important to us that all of the materials used utilised the planet's resources in the most economical and efficient way possible.

"So when it came to deciding upon the heating system for the house, we looked for something that could deliver year-round reductions in carbon emission but, at the same time, keep fuel bills low."

The couple's finished home was made from a timber frame construction throughout.

Mitsubishi's 8.5kW Ecodan unit was sited on a covered terrace, supplying heat to the ground floor using an underfloor heating system.

The Sampsons said they were "impressed" with the unit's performance.
