Over 10% of tradesmen have been sexually propositioned during house calls, according to a new survey.

Builders' Merchant News reported the poll – carried out by localtraders.com – asked 1,000 tradesmen if they had ever been offered 'a romantic encounter' on the job.]]>

Participants included plumbers, builders, roofers and electricians.

Of the tradesmen propositioned, one in 10 said they had obliged.

One plumber said: "There's been one or two ladies who've been rather too keen on my unblocking their pipes, if you know what I mean."

He added: "To be honest, the ones who've made it obvious haven't exactly been lookers. It hasn't been difficult to resist that sort of temptation."

Localtraders.com said: "Once you start getting offered extra cups of tea and special biscuits, you need to be careful as the customer might want more than just a quick home improvement."
