The Association of Plumbing and Heating Contractors (APHC) will be hosting free technical workshops across England and Wales in March 2016.

The morning workshops, which will be run in collaboration with City & Guilds, will commence at 8:45am through to 12:00 noon and will cover two topics.

How can we improve on the Building Regulations Enforcement in the Plumbing and Heating Industry?
Providing installers with the opportunity to express their opinions on the way Building Regulations are currently enforced in the plumbing and heating sector, this free technical session will also give delegates a chance to propose solutions for change and ultimately help their trade association to shape the future of the industry.

Consultation on the Plumbing and Heating Technician Apprenticeship.
The second session of the workshop will allow installers to hear from industry experts about the new Apprenticeship Standard proposal, including the content and objectives of the new proposed End Assessment. Delegates will also be encouraged to put forward their views on the different ways that candidates will be assessed so they emerge from the apprenticeships with sufficient practical training and knowledge to prove that they are work ready rather than requiring further training.

The dates and locations for the free technical workshops will be:

  • 15 March – Taunton
  • 16 March – Dartford
  • 22 March – Solihull
  • 23 March – North Wales
  • 24 March – Wakefield.
