Wolseley UK has issued a product recall for its Center brand 2kW fan heaters (product code 105161).
The recall is in response to the identification of a technical fault in a small number of the units, that may cause safety issues including risk of fire.
A spokesperson said: "We have been made aware of a technical fault in a small number of our Center brand 2kW fan heaters. Product safety is our priority and, therefore, we are recalling this product which has been sold by Wolseley since January 2014.
"We would urge all customers in possession of one of these heaters not to use it and, for more information, refer to www.plumbcenter.co.uk/product-recall or our freephone customer hotline 0800 0722 557."
The customer hotline is open on Monday to Friday: 7.30am – 8pm; Saturday: 8am – 5pm; and Sunday: 10am – 4pm.
