Glow-worm competition to energise an installer's business

Glow-worm is giving one installer the chance to give their business a boost and energise profits, with the launch of its 'Energise My Business' competition.

Statistics from Glow-worm's Installer Insight report, a survey among installers exploring business and industry issues, suggest that as many as four in 10 installers have the ambition to grow their business in 2016, yet many struggle to find the time or feel they lack the skills to take their business to the next level.

As a result, Glow-worm will be providing one ambitious installer the chance to win £2,500 worth of business support, kicked off with an expert marketing consultation to discuss the best ways to use their winning budget to support their business aspirations.

Open to all Gas Safe registered installers, the competition requires participants to submit a video, photos or a short written entry explaining how they would benefit from the support.

Participants should submit their entries through the Club Energy website www.glow-wormclubenergy.co.uk/EnergiseYourBusiness by Friday 20 May, and are encouraged to share their entries on Twitter via @glow-wormclub. Entries will then be judged by Glow-worm's sales director and marketing team, with the winner being announced on Friday 3 June. Glow-worm is looking for entries that demonstrate ambition, creativity and passion. The winning entrant will need to highlight their business goals, provide suggestions on how they would use budget and make the most of the business support to grow their business.

The prize fund may be used for marketing support such as local advertising, radio and online, creating PR toolkits, refreshing van livery or branded workwear.

Spencer Clark, sales director at Glow-worm, said: "Often achieving business growth relies on taking a fresh look at the way a business is promoted and the lasting impression left on customers. At Glow-worm we understand those installers who want to reinforce their professional image through effective marketing however, we also understand it can be difficult to find the additional budget and time.

"Our recent installer report revealed that 30% of installers felt they lacked the time to think about business planning and others felt they lacked the funds for expansion. With Glow-worm’s Energise My Business campaign we want to give one ambitious installer the opportunity to make their business goals a reality and hopefully show others what can be achieved with some planning."
