Three members of the Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering (CIPHE) received awards at a presentation ceremony in London on 13 February, organised by the Livery Companies Skill Council. The event took place at Merchant Taylors’ Hall and Alderman Dr Andrew Parmley, Lord Mayor of London, presented candidates with their certificates.

Ian Hamilton EngTech MCIPHE RP, who has over 27 years’ experience in the plumbing and heating industry, was presented with the Master Plumber Certificate. Nathan Napier EngTech MCIPHE RP was also awarded with the Master Plumber Certificate; he has worked in the industry for 25 years. Sean Woollam MCIPHE RP received the Journeyman Certificate and has 10 years’ experience.

Around 120 people attended ceremony, which had representatives from eight Livery Companies.

Paul Williams, national CIPHE president, said: “It was a pleasure to meet two new master plumbers and a journeyman; all three of which had achieved this honour through the CIPHE and a commitment to professional development. These are two of the three awards available through the Institute. I would urge anyone thinking of achieving these awards to get in touch with the CIPHE for more information – you won’t regret it.”
