To help raise awareness of Gas Safety Week, Cookerflex will be applying gas safety tags to all the cooker hoses it manufactures from now until the end of September, an estimate 10,000 products.

The tags will help to raise awareness of the importance of maintaining gas safety, and advice users on how to ensure their appliances are serviced and fixed both safely and legally, as well as advising customers to get their appliances checked annually.

Cookerflex will also be sending out flyers to its customer base, which includes plumbing and heating merchants, distributors and retailers such as Screwfix, B&Q and Travis Perkins, encouraging them to pass the flyers on to their customers and to help spread the word even further.

Gas Safety Week, which is organised by the Gas Safe Register, will run from 18 to 24 September. During that week, organisations from across the UK will unite to help raise awareness of the dangers of poorly-maintained gas appliances, which can cause gas leaks, fires, explosions and carbon monoxide poisoning.

So far, over 5,000 companies and organisations have signed up to be part of this year's campaign.
